Newbie Advice

I just started sportsbetting about 2 months ago. I have had some relative success in that time, but im unsure if its just dumb luck or if I actually do have a knack for it.

Ive started to do some light reading on general strategies/advice etc...

What suggestions for books and articles do you guys have for me to get more familiar with overall strategy?

Are parlays really sucker bets? Teasers and parlays are the only kind of bets i have made to date.

Read alot about 'systems' so far, do most betters out there follow some sort of system?

Remind yourself of the following OFTEN and before EVERY bet you place:

1. Any information you have, so does Vegas
2. Vegas knows more than you
3. Is this a square pick?
4. Is the line too good to be true? (a square pick)
5. Have I looked at all the angles? (injuries, motivation, revenge game, etc.)

How do you know if you are picking a square pick and how do you know what side Vegas is on? I always hear when i doubt bet with the house....
